Moving Tips and Terms
Moving is tough and with so many tasks to do, it's hard to know where you should start. So, to help, we came up with this easy guide to help you through the first steps in moving, which usually begins with how to organize the packing and sorting of all of your belongings.
1. USE A MOVING CHECKLIST.
Make yourself a moving checklist outlining everything that needs to be done before, and after, your move.
2. LEAVE IT BEHIND.
Avoid moving anything you don't really need. It is expensive, time-consuming, and physically unnecessary to move things you won't be using. If you don't use it now, you most likely won't use it later.
3. GET RID OF CLUTTER.
Dispose of broken tools, old toys, old clothing and other items that you no longer need, before you move. Give usable items to charity or hold a garage sale. Clutter slows down the process of moving and increses stress for those involved.
4. BOX IT.
Get boxes in assorted sizes. Start collecting them from your local merchants, or purchase them from your local hardware store. Liquor boxes are excellent. They are sturdy and contain dividers making them ideal for packing glasses, goblets, vases, etc.--but make sure these boxes have lids. You may leave clothing and other items in drawers but must remove any ammunition, currency, and jewelry. PLEASE NOTE: LOOSE ITEMS THAT ARE NOT BOXED ARE TIME CONSUMING TO MOVE AND COULD AFFECT THE COST OF YOUR MOVE. ZEUS MOVERS CAN PROVIDE PACKING AND WILL ASSUME 100% LIABILITY FOR ALL THE ITEMS WE PACK. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PACK YOUR OWN ITEMS PLEASE DO IT PROPERLY AS YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ITEMS YOU PACK. WE HAVE NO WAY TO INVENTORY ITEMS THAT YOU HAVE PACKED, SO ANY ITEMS LISTED IN THE PERSONAL/SENTIMENTAL VALUE LISTING BELOW SHOULD BE TRANSPORTED BY YOU.
5. SCHEDULE AHEAD
We are equipped to handle last minute and emergency moves, however whenever possible try to allow ample time for planning and executing your move. It is also important to set aside a day for moving because the arrival windows that are given only the first one is guaranteed and subject to compensation outside of our arrival windows. Traffic conditions, weather, or any other acts of god are beyond our control. While we do our best to accommodate these windows it is not a perfect science. Specials are based on availability and we reserve the right to alter or change the move date and time. Choose a day that you can dedicate to your move so you can have a smooth and easily managed transition. We have noticed that our customers can become overwhelmed when attempting to move, connect cable, etc. on the same day as the move.

6.BOOKING
When booking please be sure to be as detailed as possible about your move and your expectations. If you are booking online, when you submit your quote/booking form you want to make sure to include any information that may affect of the cost or time your move. Driveway being on a hill, elevator not working, 3rd floor move, excessive boxes, or any special instructions for the movers.
7.MOVING NO NO'S
Before the day of your move, please take some time to review items that we cannot put on a truck or in a container. Hazardous and perishable materials are not allowed, and we recommend that you keep sentimental or personally important items with you.

**If you are moving locally and your goods will be delivered the same day perishables which are correctly packed and do not require any attention during transit may be moved by Zeus Movers inc.
NOTE: We move appliances and electronics as an added convenience however because of the nature of electronics we can not be liable for any damage that should arise from transport, storage, installation or handling. There are too many factors to include to determine if the damage is caused by movers versus conditions. Please be sure to check all connections to appliances and electronics as you are responsible for the proper installation of your equipment You have 30 days to file a damage report with this company After that time has expired we are no longer liable as we can not determine contact with said items. All items should be inspected once the job is completed You should empty your refrigerators and freezers and keep appliance doors open for at least 24 hours in advance of loading. This will allow appliances to dry out and prevent the growth of mold.
